W. Todd Okeson, Principal Owner
A lifelong resident of Sussex County, New Jersey, Wiley “Todd” Okeson attended High Point Regional High School then graduated from Lycoming College in 1997 with a Biology major and Math minor. After working in the construction materials industry, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own alternative energy company in 2008. He currently holds certifications that allow him to install systems in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio and has also installed systems in the Virgin Islands and Costa Rica. Todd recently tested for the NABCEP PV Technical Sales and Geothermal IGSHPA certifications. He is scheduled for the NABCEP Installer examination in March 2012. He also holds Schuco and UMA certification for Solar Thermal domestic hot water systems.
Married to Tracy Gibbins-Okeson for 9 years, they have two children, Tanner, age 7 and Parker, age 5, and reside on Culvers Lake in Frankford Township. Todd’s hobbies include skiing, fishing, wrestling, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling with his sons. Todd has been an active supporter of the Patriots’ Path Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Sussex County chapter of the American Red Cross and Project Self-Sufficiency.
Matthew William Jaust, Director of Operations / Designer
A lifelong resident of Sussex County, New Jersey, Matt Jaust attended High Point Regional High School and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Landscape Architecture. Matt started his professional Career as a landscape architect and honed his skills as a project manager in the construction Industry. He has attended numerous training courses and technical classes within the industry, and is currently working towards his NABCEP certification.
Matt is married to Mandy Jaust and they reside on Culvers Lake where he grew up and remains an active part of the lake community. Matt’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Matt has been an active volunteer for the High Point Wrestling Club for the past 10 years as a coach and fundraiser. He in the process of designing and installing a PV system for his own home.
Susan E. Stark, Business Administrator
Sue is a lifelong resident of Branchville NJ. She attended High Point Regional High School, Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and The University of New Hampshire. She has received a master’s degree from the School of Hard Knocks and is currently studying for her doctorate in The School of Life Experience.
Sue came to ECAE with 25 years of business administration experience, 15 years of planning and zoning board membership and close ties to the construction industry. She is the owner of a 5.75 kW solar PV system and lives in Branchville, NJ with her daughter Sovann. She enjoys international travel, sea kayaking, hiking, four-wheeling in her self-restored 1970 FJ40 Land Cruiser and taking evening rides on her Ducati Monster.
Craig Okeson, Project Manager
Craig Graduated from High Point Regional High School in 1994 then attended West Virginia University and graduated with a degree in Environment Protection in 1999. He then moved to Colorado where he was employed as an innkeeper, professional chef and property manager. Eight years later, he moved back to Sussex County to help his brother Todd run ECAE.
Married to Jennifer Hensley, they have a new baby boy, Cooper, and a husky named Moose. They reside in Frankford Township and recently installed a 9.68kW Solar PV system on the roof of their home. His hobbies include skiing, hiking, cooking, eating and just being outside.
Dave Coleman, Project Manager
Dave came to ECAE from another Solar Installation Company in the region. He has 15 years of building experiance and has supervised many aspects of the costruction process including many solar photovoltaic system installations.
He is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, The Nature Conservancy and the American Heart Association. In his free time Dave enjoys back-country camping, hiking and mountain biking.
Michelle Syre, Support
Michelle first came to us as a client and has since become an important member of the team. She sees things from a customer's perspective and can help de-mystify the installation process. She has a strong background in facility management, IT management and marketing. Michelle has a BS from the University of Scranton and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
She resides in Lafayette with her family in a house with a standing seam metal roof and a 7.2 kwh designed, installed and maintained by ECAE.
Ben Kappler, IT & System Design

Ben brings to ECAE a wealth of knowledge computer knowledge and a passion designing renewable energy systems.
He is a resident of the Culvers Lake section of Sussex County and is also employed at High Point Regional High School.
